Program Overview
The Master of Science in Practical Ministry is a graduate-level religious education program designed to strengthen the theological knowledge, biblical interpretation, ministry leadership, and practical competencies required for effective Christian ministry. The program connects advanced biblical and theological study with the practical responsibilities of teaching, preaching, pastoral care, congregational development, and ministry leadership. Students engage Old Testament Theology, New Testament Theology, Advanced Hermeneutics, Spirit-Formed Leadership, Advanced Homiletics, Pastoral Counseling, Congregational Growth and Development, and Church History and Renewal. Through these areas of study, students develop the ability to interpret and communicate Scripture responsibly, evaluate ministry challenges, provide biblically grounded pastoral care, strengthen congregational life, and apply theological understanding to contemporary ministry environments. The program emphasizes graduate-level biblical interpretation, theological integration, ministry application, leadership, communication, pastoral responsibility, and critical evaluation of ministry practice. Students demonstrate their integration and mastery of the major areas of study through the Master of Science in Practical Ministry Final Comprehensive Examination.
