Program Overview

The Master of Arts in Theology (Divinity) is a graduate-level religious education program designed for students seeking advanced study of Christian theology, biblical interpretation, the life and ministry of Jesus Christ, the work of the Holy Spirit, and the historical development of the Christian faith. The program moves beyond foundational biblical knowledge to engage students in theological analysis, interpretation, synthesis, and the thoughtful examination of significant Christian doctrines and traditions. Students engage Christian Theology I and II, Advanced Hermeneutics, the doctrine and experience of conversion through the Holy Spirit, the life of Jesus Christ within its historical context, Messianic Jewish theology, and church history and renewal. These areas of study encourage students to examine theological ideas within their biblical, historical, cultural, and interpretive contexts while developing the ability to evaluate differing perspectives and construct well-supported theological conclusions. The program emphasizes advanced biblical interpretation, theological reasoning, scholarly engagement, historical understanding, and the integration of Christian theology with contemporary ministry and religious thought. Students demonstrate graduate-level mastery by synthesizing the major areas of study through the Master of Arts in Theology (Divinity) Final Comprehensive Examination.
