Program Overview
The Master of Arts in Christian Counseling is a graduate-level religious education program designed to deepen students’ understanding of Christian counseling, human behavior, psychological principles, emotional and relational well-being, and biblically grounded approaches to helping others. The program integrates advanced counseling study with Christian theology and Scripture, preparing students to examine complex human concerns through both psychological understanding and a distinctly Christian framework. Students develop greater competency in analyzing thought patterns, emotions, behavior, relationships, life experiences, and spiritual concerns while strengthening their ability to apply counseling principles responsibly within Christian ministry and faith-based helping environments. Graduate study emphasizes critical analysis, ethical judgment, biblical integration, case-based application, and the thoughtful evaluation of counseling approaches rather than reliance upon foundational knowledge alone. The program emphasizes advanced Christian counseling knowledge, responsible helping practices, scholarly engagement, critical thinking, and the integration of psychological understanding with biblical and theological principles. Students demonstrate graduate-level mastery and integration of the major areas of study through the Master of Arts in Christian Counseling Final Comprehensive Examination.
