Program Overview
The Bachelor of Arts in Theology (Biblical Studies) is a faith-based undergraduate program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in Scripture, biblical interpretation, Christian doctrine, and the historical development of the Christian faith. Students engage both the Old and New Testaments while developing the knowledge and interpretive skills necessary to examine Scripture within its biblical, theological, historical, and literary contexts. The program explores Old Testament and New Testament studies, hermeneutics, Christology, soteriology, pneumatology, church history, and the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Through these areas of study, students develop a deeper understanding of the person and work of Jesus Christ, salvation, the Holy Spirit, the development of the Church, and the overarching biblical narrative while learning to approach Scripture with greater theological discipline and interpretive responsibility. The program emphasizes biblical literacy, sound interpretation, theological understanding, critical thinking, and the application of Scripture within Christian ministry and everyday life. Students demonstrate their integration of the major areas of study through the Bachelor of Arts in Theology (Biblical Studies) Final Comprehensive Examination.
